What is Rate Caching?
Rate caching is when a menu/dealer makes a rating call and we store that request internally.
Why Rate Cache?
It saves time! When a dealer or menu makes a second rate request for the same vehicle information, we do not have to go through the entire classing process again. Our system is able to pull the cached request and, provided certain criteria are met, will return the cached rates.
Here’s the criteria the system looks for in terms of Rate Caching:
|
Criteria that will Get New Rates |
Criteria that will NOT get New Rates |
|---|---|
|
|
Price Point Identity Error
Why does it happen? The rate request was cached and some piece of information changed between the rating call and the contracting call.
How To Fix
The easiest way to is to advise the dealership/menu to up the mileage by one and try again.
However, changing any piece of information in the above box under ‘Criteria that will Get New Rates’ will pull the request out of the Cache.
